White Bird Clinic will continue to provide compassionate, humanistic healthcare, and supportive services to individuals in our community as long as it is safe to do so. We are following the hygiene and social distancing measures that have been recommended by Lane County, the Oregon Health Authority, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and encourage everyone else to do the same. We’ve had to make changes in a number of programs for health but we are still providing services.

The current management of large funder donations is that when a donor contributes, we provide 100% direct support as according to the donors wishes and WBC matches the funds needed to supply the admin support required to go along with those wishes. For example, if the donor gives us $20,000 for shelter tents and client supplies we spend 100% of that money directly on the clients. White Bird picks up the admin, processing and management time taken to manage that. Smaller donations, if not specified, go to support the department they are donated to, that could be anything from client servers, supplies, equipment or payroll.

Material Donations

We’ve had a number of people reaching out to find out how they can support our clients and staff during the pandemic to help people shelter-in-place. Donations can be dropped off at 341 E 12th Avenue between the hours of 9:00AM and 5:00PM, 7-days a week. We have someone posted outside that can assist. Here’s what we need the most:

  • Men’s clothing
  • Men’s shoes
  • Men’s belts
  • Easy Snacks (cup of noodles, granola bars, etc.)
  • Sleeping bags
  • Tents
  • Tarps

We are also accepting cash contributions online for our COVID-19 fund.

For people who wish to donate time and talent during this crisis, United Way is coordinating volunteer opportunities here.

We will look for ways to be a force and resource multiplier for community resources in order to support our community with the donations we receive. Thank you for your support.
