White Bird Clinic provides a range of trainings for the local community as well as our staff and volunteers. We offer basic overviews of our clinic, in depth explorations of specific departments, internships, and/or basic communication and de-escalation trainings. We also enjoy sharing information and resources about our agency and are available to table at local events upon request.
We offer an 8-hour Mental Health First Aid course to teach people how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Participants learn the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, the importance of early intervention and, most importantly, how to help someone experiencing a mental health or substance use emergency.
Community trainings are often a source of fundraising for White Bird but costs are adjustable based on group size, amount of time, and ability to pay. We only ask that a group pay what they can with the proceeds going to support our agency’s continuing efforts locally.
