White Bird Clinic provides a range of trainings for the local community. Community trainings are often a source of fundraising for White Bird but costs are adjustable based on group size, amount of time, and ability to pay. We only ask that a group pay what they can with the proceeds going to support our agency’s continuing efforts locally. We enjoy sharing information and resources about our agency and table at local events when possible.

Our de-escalation training is $300 for a group of 25 individuals and provides an overview of assessment and intervention skills so that a lay-person can maintain personal safety and recognize when someone might need help. We also offer an 8-hour Mental Health First Aid course to teach people how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Participants learn the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, the importance of early intervention and, most importantly, how to help someone experiencing a mental health or substance use emergency.

To request a speaker or tabling partner for your group or event, White Bird prefers requests submitted 4-6 weeks in advance. The request process is handled online through the Speaker Request Form below. The form will ask you for basic information about the event (date, time, location, etc.) that will be needed to process your request. When you press “submit,” the completed form will automatically be sent to us. We will follow up with you about your request once it has been reviewed.  Thank you for your interest!
