Counseling

Counseling

We provide on-going, client-centered counseling for low-income individuals and families. We accept Oregon Health Plan and offer grant-funded mental health services for the homeless, with limited indigent slots.

Homeless Case Management

Homeless Case Management

The Homeless department is designed to help adults experiencing homelessness navigate available resources and sign up to receive assistance. Services offered may include case management and advocacy, SSI/SSDI assistance from a public benefits specialist, and transportation to appointments.

Crisis Service Center

Crisis Service Center

We are Lane County’s primary, 24/7, free crisis intervention service. For over 50 years, we have been offering immediate, short-term support. Our trained counselors have both a deep ability to empathize with clients, as well as extensive knowledge of local resources that are appropriate to provide ongoing care.

Front Rooms

Gateway to services including information and referral concerning human services in Lane County available to all, with a focus on assistance to people with low incomes or special needs. Phone and walk-in assistance is available from 8am to 10pm.

Chrysalis Behavioral Health Outpatient Services

Chrysalis Behavioral Health Outpatient Services

We offer services for substance abuse and mental health care through individual and group counseling, drug education, DUII, and acupuncture treatment. We accept OHP, private insurance, and have sliding-scale fees.

Medical Clinic

White Bird Medical Clinic provides compassionate health care to people who might not otherwise get care, treating all with dignity and respect. We offer quality health care to everyone on a sliding fee scale. Located in Downtown Eugene, patients can often get all the care they need in a single location.

CAHOOTS

CAHOOTS

We provide a mobile crisis intervention van in Eugene that responds to non-criminal situations including substance abuse, mental/emotional crisis, disorientation, welfare checks, and dispute facilitation - providing assessment, intervention, and transport to services as needed.

We offer quality, low-cost, full-service dental care as well as urgent care clinics. Services include restorative as well as preventative treatment. Both public and private insurance are accepted.

Deescalation and Client Centered Communication

The philosophy: At White Bird, we follow a client centered model and believe that each person deserves respect for his or her process. Our role is to be available to help out where we can, with the least intervention necessary to facilitate a healthy and safe process for everyone. Our basic communication and de-escalation trainings provide an overview of skills and assessment so that a lay-person (not trained in medicine or crisis intervention) can maintain personal safety and recognize when someone might need care. We will go over: Basic interpersonal communication skills with a humanistic/person centered approach. Basic crisis intervention and de-escalation tips and techniques. Physical safety and scene assessment. Basic physical assessment of a person. General self-care and maintaining healthy boundaries in difficult situations. Your questions and concerns specific to your agency, business, or community. We have offered this training throughout Lane County and Oregon. Groups that have benefited from our presentations include local schools, churches, social service agencies, local businesses, police departments, EMS and first responder groups, and many others. We have a busy schedule so please reach out to us a month or more out to set up a training for your group.
