A member of the Front Room Team, this position manages the living room’s homeless day access services, maintaining a safe place both inside and outside 341 East 12th and includes training responsibilities. In the absence of the Receptionist, provides after hours phone reception for all White Bird programs.

17.5 hours/week for shared coverage of lobby that operates 7 days/week, 14 hours/day.

Pay and Benefits:

$14/hour plus paid sick, vacation and holidays.

Job Description:

Requirements:

  1. Two years’ experience in a White Bird service program, or direct service provision in a non-profit.
  2. Able to multi-task
  3. Able to stay calm, kind, non-judgmental with a variety of vulnerable clients.
  4. No conviction for predatory crime.
  5. Complete CPR and First Aid training within one month of hire.
  6. Comply with confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
  7. Able to manage telephones, computer data input, collect statistics daily
  8. A sense of Humor

Desired:

  1. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
  2. Experience in working in a Collective

Duties:

  1. Initial point of contact for those using the front room.
  2. Triage client needs, including client phone and bathroom privileges, requests to speak with a Crisis worker, requests for blankets/clothing
  3. Provide human services information and referral resources.
  4. Manage signup for and deliver mail and messages.
  5. Receive and receipt donations
  6. Keep service statistics
  7. Attend weekly program meeting
  8. Shares the responsibility for keeping the front rooms tidy
  9. Maintain human service resources including the brochure rack
  10. Complete new employee orientation
  11. Lobby Buckstopper reports to Program Coordinator
