This position is part of White Bird Clinic’s Administration Team and shares responsibility for the preparation and submission of grant requests and the monitoring of funder satisfaction for all White Bird’s programs and services.  As a team member, this position is expected to maintain/enhance the resource base of the agency and to report issues of consequence to the appropriate Coordinator.

20-30 hours per week

Pay and Benefits:

$15.87 per hour plus sick, vacation and holiday pay. Medical/Dental insurance & health reimbursement account at 30 hours per week or more.

Job Description:


  1. Grant writing experience
  2. Good technical writing skills
  3. Ability to generate creative ideas by exploring many possible solutions
  4. Keen attention to detail
  5. Computer literacy


  1. At least one year of human service experience
  2. At least one year of non-profit experience
  3. Advanced skills with storytelling and persuasion
  4. Knowledge of White Bird programs


  1. Solicit new private and public grant opportunities in several human services fields
  2. Based on program needs, renew established grants and contracts
  3. Prepare and participate in funder site visits
  4. Grants Management: monitor service performance, grant spending and funder requirements
  5. Report performance benchmarks to funders, programs and the Community Collective.
  6. Complete Employee Orientation training; Participate in New Staff Orientation and New Volunteer Training
  7. As member of the Administration Team, attend internal meetings of programs; participate in hirings, AdCo and Community as needed; assist in fundraising efforts; backup the work of the other administrative positions
  8. As generalist, hold the White Bird perspective, share in program development and planning and in identifying and focusing attention on emergent issues/problems, assist the Community Collective in its response; monitor and keep agency vibes clean
  9. Report to the Core Administrative Team

There is a minimum three-month probationary period for all White Bird positions.
