White Bird Medical Clinic currently utilizes NextGen Ambulatory EHR, a software suite used to manage patients’ electronic health records, manage appointments, bill insurance, and perform other functions related to running a medical clinic. We will be transitioning to using Greenway Health’s EHR. This position entails understanding current use of NextGen to support its use until January 2018, and to use that understanding to map a plan for transitioning to Greenway in 2018.  This position requires becoming proficient with Greenway; configuring, updating, and maintaining it; help staff to move their workflows from NextGen to Greenway; helping staff better utilize its features; and providing day-to-day desktop support.

30-40 hours weekly

Pay and Benefits:

$14 per hour with dental & medical insurance plus sick, vacation and holiday pay.

Job Description:

We will be transitioning to using Greenway Health’s EHR. This position entails understanding current use of NextGen to support its use until January 2018, and to use that understanding to map a plan for transitioning to Greenway in 2018.  This position requires becoming proficient with Greenway; configuring, updating, and maintaining it; help staff to move their workflows from NextGen to Greenway; helping staff better utilize its features; and providing day-to-day desktop support.

Responsibilities:

  1. Become familiar with the workflows of all clinical and support staff that utilize the EMR. Review workflows for efficiencies (how to use the EMR to reduce work) and grant/State/National requirement compliance (are we entering all of the data required in the correct manner).
  2. Develop an understanding of Greenway UI, configuration and reports. Become a Greenway Super User within 4 months of hire.
  3. Configure application and system settings to meet the needs of the program and staff members.
  4. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and other regulatory requirements.
  5. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of Health Quality Measures (HQM).
  6. Provide direct support and troubleshooting to end users as necessary. Open support requests with NextGen or Greenway support when needed.
  7. Develop training materials and train new users.
  8. Design custom templates (forms for entering and tracking patient information) and reports as needed.
  9. Document workflows, common procedures, and best practices, and make documentation accessible to staff.
  10. Attend weekly staff meetings as well as additional meetings as scheduled.
  11. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Knowledge of and familiarity with the health care field, including patient care and practice management
  2. Two years IT desktop support experience or equivalent
  3. Ability to maintaining a professional and courteous attitude in diverse situations
  4. Strong computer skills: Windows, networking, Word, Excel, internet
  5. Basic Math and English Language Skills
  6. Strong Communication Skills
  7. Detail oriented, able to self-manage, able to work independently and to deadlines
  8. A sense of humor.

Preferred:

  1. Experience with database (MS SQL) applications and/or electronic health records software
  2. Experience working in a consensus environment

Accountability:

This position reports to the Medical Director and Medical Program Coordinator.

This position has a six-month probationary period. All new staff will be required to attend New Staff Training, to be discussed in interview.
