This full-time temporary for 3 months position provides oversight and coordination of fiscal processes and staff for White Bird Clinic. This includes technical and procedural guidance to the fiscal clerks in addition to system improvements to assure optimal fiscal function.

40 hours per week.

Pay and Benefits:

$15.87 per hour plus dental/medical insurance and sick, vacation and holiday pay.

Job Description:

Reports to: Core Team

Duties include:

  1. Assure compliance with regulatory and funding source requirements.
  2. Monitor White Bird Clinic assets including banks accounts, investments and physical assets. Recommend actions to assure adequate protection and cash flow.
  3. Assure adequate internal controls through appropriate separation of duties. (HR, MERP, Insurance, Risk Management.)
  4. Ensure that fiscal staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and monitor the use of all funds.
  5. Advise and assist fiscal staff, admin team, and Community with fiscal processes.
  6. Provide guidance and training for fiscal staff. Ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness and use of resources.
  7. Design and maintain computer tools to reduce error and simplify processes.
  8. Maintain and update the Fiscal Policies and Procedures Manual. Recommend changes to financial policies, with authority to use interim changes pending approval.
  9. Review all contracts, grants and award documents for fiscal process requirements.
  10. Perform appropriate analysis of fiscal activity to assist Community and programs.
  11. Improve and maintain the complex system that prepares timely monthly financial statements. Ensure statements are presented in a timely manner.
  12. Prepare or assist external reporting items including: 990, CT-12, UDS, FSR, and others.
  13. Prepare and maintain budgeting and other fiscal elements for internal and external use.
  14. Prepare and coordinate annual independent external audit.
  15. Perform internal audit through a random sampling of fiscal processes.
  16. Present annual financial report to the annual combined Board/Community meeting.
  17. Attend Admin and Board/Community meeting.
  18. Available to Board of Directors for reporting/discussion.
  19. Attend New Employee Orientation
  20. Reports to Core Team

Requirements:

  1. Minimum five years experience in corporate fiscal management, with at least two in non-profit organizations, or a CPA with nonprofit experience.
  2. Appropriate formal NPM educational preparation would substitute for three years of experience.
  3. Prior direct experience with Federal, State, County, Municipal, and private contract compliance.
  4. Specific and adequate experience with computerized accounting systems, preferably fund-based.
  5. Strong ability with Excel spreadsheet manipulation.
  6. Experience in either performing or coordinating independent audits to government standards.
  7. Ability and willingness to adapt compliant systems within a communal-consensus organization.
  8. Ability to work closely with Clinic Coordinator and Grant Writer
  9. Ability to perform and depict complex analysis of financial matters.

Note: This position has a 6-month probationary period.
